Ram Navami - Birth of Rama.

Ram Navami is celebrated as the mark of the birth of Lord Rama in the Treta Yuga.

King Dasaratha of the Surya Dynasty longed for an heir to rule his kingdom, Sage Vishwamithra advised Dasaratha to perform 'Putrakameshti Yagna'.

After performing the yagna, the king was blessed by the god, offered a pot of divine sweet, and advised to give that to his wives.

Dasaratha's wives Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra ate the divine food and were blessed to deliver four sons.

Lord Rama - Vishnu's incarnation was born to Queen Kausalya.

Bharata - Vishnu's conch shell or Shanka's incarnation was born to Queen Kaikeyi.

Lakshmana - Sheshanag's incarnation was born to Sumitra.

Shatrugana - Sudharshana chakra's incarnation was born to Sumitra.

The mark of Lord Rama's birthday which is on the ninth day of Shukla paksha is celebrated as Ramanavami.
